Leaving Adelaide behind, relax, unwind and enjoy the spectacular scenery gliding past as you settle into this special 4-day journey. Expect to spend your time relaxing or socialising as you enjoy the ambience of the train, before stepping off to immerse yourself in Off Train Experiences as you journey towards Brisbane.
Travelling through the magical Adelaide Hills, you’ll soon be in the ancient Grampians region in Victoria. Then, delve into the art, history and culinary culture of Canberra, discovering the nation’s capital. On day three, you’ll travel to Gulgong by coach for an Off Train Experience and lunch at Lowe Wines in Mudgee, after lunch you’ll be transported to Muswellbrook to meet the Great Southern and continue your journey into the final destination of Brisbane.

As the train leaves Adelaide, take your time to settle in and get familiar with your cabin. Enjoy morning tea and then savour a relaxed lunch on board while watching the ever-changing landscape glide by. In the afternoon, the train will arrive in regional Victoria where you’ll have a chance to experience the spectacular wilderness of the Grampians region. Choose from a range of Off Train Experiences. Whether it’s taking in the views from Boroka Lookout, taking a guided walk of the Venus Baths Loop Walk, visiting Pomonal Estate or Fallen Giants vineyard for an epicurean adventure, or going sky high with an optional helicopter flight over the Grampians.
After breakfast on board, today is yours to explore Australia’s political capital, Canberra. After breakfast on board, enjoy a coach ride to Canberra City Centre to experience a memorable lunch at Old Parliament House before an afternoon of insightful guided tours at your pick of iconic institutions, whether it’s the National War Memorial, Parliament House or the National Portrait Gallery.
As afternoon turns to evening, return to the train in time for another gourmet dinner on board. After dinner, retire to the lounge for a nightcap with your fellow travellers as the Great Southern rolls north (B,L,D)
