Orange Wine Region: Head east and visit the burgeoning wine region of Orange. Enjoy a relaxed day featuring a long lunch amongst the vineyards and wine tasting before reboarding the train in time for dinner on board.

Orange Explorer: Travel east towards the delightful town of Orange – birthplace of legendary poet Banjo Paterson – stopping for a relaxing lunch amongst the vineyards before discovering the rich history and beauty of Orange with a self-paced Heritage Trail walk and a visit to the Orange Regional Museum, before reboarding the train in time for dinner on board.
Today is a unique adventure taking you to places seldom seen. Enjoy an early breakfast onboard the Great Southern before disembarking to explore the quaint, gold mining town of Gulgong where Australian icon Henry Lawson grew up and found inspiration for many of his works. Visit the Pioneer Museum and Henry Lawson Centre, or marvel at some of the 130 National Trust listed buildings in town.
Then you’ll travel by coach to Merriwa to enjoy lunch at a homestead before pushing on to Muswellbrook to reboard the Great Southern for a relaxing afternoon back on board watching the world glide by.
Enjoy dinner on board and finish this unique day with a drink in the lounge car before retiring for the night.
