Important Notice | East West rail line closed due to flooding 

Please note, the below details are current as of Monday 2 March, 2026. We will update this with more information as it becomes available.

 

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has advised Journey Beyond of significant flooding along multiple sections of the Indian Pacific track in northern South Australia.

 

As a result of the ongoing track closure, the train is required to turn around and return to Perth on Tuesday 3 March and is currently unable to operate into Adelaide and Sydney. Consequently, the below journeys will be impacted:

 

  • Adelaide to Sydney, departing Monday 2 March
  • Sydney to Adelaide, departing Wednesday 4 March

 

Further impacts to the below journey are still being determined:

 

  • Sydney/Adelaide to Perth, departing Wednesday 4 March

 

Our team will be communicating with impacted guests over the coming days. Guests who booked via a travel agent are advised to work directly with their agent.

 

We are monitoring the upcoming forecast and are in daily communication with the ARTC regarding track re-opening. Should anything change, we will advise guests further.
